Hoverfly Technologies is a tethered drone technology company headquartered in Orlando, Florida. Hoverfly’s tethered drones provide mobile, instant high ground for surveillance and communication.
Unlike battery-powered drones, tethered drones have unlimited flight time and are controlled through the tether, not RF signal, to provide secure video and data transmission. The drones are payload agnostic with an open architecture that allows for integration of multiple sensors, cameras, radios, or other payloads.

Steve Walters
President and CEO
Steve is the former CEO of Brogden Enterprises, and a former Senior VP at QinetiQ North America (Westar Aerospace) where he was responsible for a $300 million aviation logistics management business. Steve is a retired U.S. Army officer where he was the Army’s Fixed Wing Program Manager and the chief of flight test at the Army’s Aviation Technical Test Center. He is a DoD certified acquisition professional and has an MS in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from West Point.
Bruce Tuftie

Bruce was formerly an independent consultant in the aerospace industry and a Business Development representative for PCX AeroSystems. He was the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at CAE USA Military Simulation & Training company from 2016-2021, where he was responsible for expanding the company’s military sales and generating long-term revenue for the company through the application of innovative business initiatives. Prior to this position, Bruce was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Pacific Contours Corporation in Anaheim, California and was an independent advisor and program management consultant for DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) and the USATRADOC (United States Army Training and Doctrine Command).
Bruce is a former Special Operations Master Army Aviator and a Department of Defense Level III certified program manager. During his military career, Bruce served in both the enlisted and officer ranks. his assignments included tours with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), the 82nd Airborne, the Ft. Eustis based Technology Applications Program Office, and the United States Special Operations Command.
He received his baccalaureate from Northern Illinois University and his master’s degree in business from the University of LaVerne. Bruce also studied leadership at George Washington University and the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
